The Sidelinez project has now ‘kicked off’ after a fantastic response from sports teams and clubs in Bolsover, Chesterfield and NE Derbyshire.
A wide variety of sports clubs have contacted Junction Arts with lots of ideas. They range from designing a new club shirt to composing a supporters song or designing a website.
The first workshop has already taken place at the Blackwell Miners Welfare Cricket Club Centenary Event on 15th June. The club wanted to make a film to commemorate a World Record!!! 100 years ago Arnold Warren and John Chapman set the world record for a 9th wicket partnership of 283 against Warwickshire in 1910.
The highlight of last week’s celebration was a Twenty/20 competition between Derbyshire County Cricket Club and Blackwell.
The clubs newly recruited junior cricket team worked with Martin Blackham and Tony Judge, from Creative Forum, to document the event. The Sidelinez Media Squad worked brilliantly as a team and took part in all aspects of the filming. They were confident interviewers, even with the Derbyshire players, and soon learnt how to use a professional camera and the sound equipment.
The commemorative film will now be edited and presented to the junior team.
Please note that applications for Sidelinez is now closed. We’ve had a fantastic response from a wide range of teams including BMX, volleyball, table tennis and Cricket .
